Preventing & combating the devastating harms of pornography, prostitution, sex trafficking & sexual slavery. Nonreligious, nonpartisan, pro free speech, pro safe, healthy, equality-based sex, love & relationships
WOW. A new site with user-submitted content called Potential Prostitutes is ABUSING and EXTORTING women. So disturbing! Check out the details below.
[Huffington Post Women] — The website allows users to label any woman a “potential prostitute” by submitting her photo, phone number and location. This information is then posted on the site without the woman’s consent. If someone wishes to be removed from the site, they are asked to pay a one-time fee of $99.95.
According to the website, Potential Prostitutes “operate[s] based on the efforts from motivated members of their local community who have at one point or another come into contact with a potential prostitute online and feel they can be a threat.” The mission statement goes on to thank “brave visitors for stepping forward to tell the world what it should already know, that exposing online prostitutes discourages other potential offenders from doing the very same thing.” Yes, this website actually exists.
The FAQ section makes it clear that the founders of Potential Prostitutes — who have yet to make themselves known, Boing Boing reported — do not care whether the accusations of prostitution are libelous and state that the profiles will remain published unless someone pays to remove them.

Greetings friends! We work very hard all year round to combat the devastating harms of pornography, prostitution, sex trafficking and sexual slavery. Will you help us do more in 2013?? It’s easy! Just click on the link below to make a secure tax-deductible donation! Thanks! ~ “The only thing that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.” ~ Edmund Burke ~~ http://www.antipornography.org/donate.html
MORE INFO: We would LOVE it if our organization was independently wealthy or well-funded by a big foundation so that we could have lots of full-time paid staff and carry out big projects and major campaigns, but unfortunately this is not currently the case. So, like most small 501(c)(3) nonprofits who put in many long, unpaid, volunteer hours of work every week to do OUR part for the cause, (and who often have to pay out of our own pockets to cover basic establishment and operating expenses), we depend on the financial support of good people like YOU to continue our work and to seriously expand it! 🙂
In 2012 we reached more than ONE MILLION people with our comprehensive website and with our many social networking sites at YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Tumblr, Blogger and here at WordPress. We increased our number of supporters for our work by several thousand people. And most importantly, we achieved many great successes, such as helping people to quit using porn, and helping others to start speaking out against it. We also gave voice to a number of victims who have been harmed by pornography and sexual exploitation by sharing their moving stories at the HARM STORIES page at our website. http://www.antipornography.org/harm_stories.html
This is great, but MANY MORE MILLIONS of people need to be reached, and MUCH MORE is needed to be DONE to help the many millions of people, (especially vulnerable women and children) who are suffering the many abuses of dehumanizing pornography, exploitative prostitution, life-threatening sex trafficking and often deadly sexual slavery! With the financial support of a number of caring people — even of smaller donations that all add up — THIS CAN HAPPEN!!
So we are hoping that EACH ONE OF YOU who reads this is willing to do YOUR part to support this vital work to make the world a better place for everyone in 2013 and beyond. (And if you can’t afford to donate, please at least pass this message along by liking and sharing this post. Thanks!)
To anyone who steps up and helps out with the cause: Your kindness and generosity are REALLY appreciated and will help more people than you can possibly know! THANK YOU!! 🙂
P.S. If anyone knows of any individuals or foundations who would be open to providing MAJOR funding for our nonprofit, please feel free to let us know, either here or via the CONTACT page of our website. http://www.antipornography.org/contact.html
Also, if anyone would like to help us with fundraising, we have many options with the basics set up, and would be thrilled to have your help in moving them forward! (I.e. Causes.com, Razoo.com, FundRazr, EBay/Mission Fish, Amazon Programs, Google, YouTube, GuideStar, Cars4Causes, Facebook apps, etc.) Thanks! 🙂
Finally, we can always use COMPETENT, TRUSTWORTHY, COMMITTED AND RELIABLE VOLUNTEERS. So… if you’re interested in giving your time and energy instead of a financial contribution, that would be very much appreciated also! (Just contact us via the page linked above.)
THANKS AGAIN, GOOD PEOPLE, TO WHOEVER IS WILLING TO DO *YOUR* PART TO BE PART OF THE SOLUTION TO CREATING A SAFER AND BETTER WORLD FOR EVERYONE. YOU ARE APPRECIATED, AND YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS OF ANY TYPE OR AMOUNT REALLY *DO* MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!
P.S. Here is our favorite video for some inspiration for all of you. We REALLY CAN make the world a better place for EVERYONE — IF ALL OF US use our own two hands!!
Concerned Twitter users have exposed several accounts posting child porn and have gotten them removed! Yay! 🙂 What should be noted here is that speaking up and reporting abuse and images that violate the policies of a service like Twitter CAN make a difference, so we urge all of you to please do so as much as possible! ~ Check out the details of the story below for some useful information and some positive inspiration. 🙂
— NOTE: “NSPCC” is an acronym for the UK organization the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.
[The Huffington Post UK] — Several Twitter accounts which were publishing images of child abuse have been suspended following a barrage of complaints from users of the social networking site.
Around 30 complaints were made to the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) about the indecent images on Sunday night.
TWEET by @NSPCC:
People have expressed concern about a twitter feed with disturbing images of children. We’ve alerted CEOP. They are looking at it urgently.
Twitter users also contacted the NSPCC expressing their concern over the accounts, while the hashtags #report999tmmhot and #Reportloveinna47 – the Twitter handles of two of the accounts in question – started trending.
TWEET by @LOHANTHONY:
please report this DISGUSTING account please @999tmmhot #Report999tmmHot
On Monday, the NSPCC congratulated those who had alerted CEOP about the offensive images.
TWEET by @NSPCC:
Action being taken against twitter pages with abuse images. Well done to twitter users for exposing them. BBC report: http://t.co/PqjPkKek
A spokesman for the NSPCC said: “Sadly sex offenders will use any means available to share disturbing images. It’s important to remember that children are abused when they are made and sharing them encourages this abuse. WE ALSO KNOW THAT ONE IN THREE PEOPLE WHO VIEW THESE IMAGES WILL GO ON TO ABUSE CHILDREN THEMSELVES.”
(Emphasis added in the above paragraph by AntiPornography.org to point out that WATCHING porn is often not a passive activity of engaging in a “private fantasy”, but frequently leads to ACTING OUT REAL ABUSE IN REAL LIFE ON REAL VICTIMS, as a result of the viewing of (and masturbating to) pornography. These victims are almost always vulnerable and exploited women and children.)
“We are working with CEOP to catch the people responsible and will be speaking to Twitter and other social media platforms about what more can be done to stop the trade in these images.”
It is not yet clear how many accounts were reported to CEOP but the internet safety team said all of the accounts had been suspended.

Please read the details below. Hopefully this will encourage other countries to follow the UK’s excellent example of protecting children from the horrific abuses of hardcore Internet pornography!
[Guardian] — David Cameron has announced “radical” plans to help parents protect their children online by prompting them to tailor their computer settings to block internet pornography, violence and other unsuitable websites.
The prime minister, who described such material as “a silent attack on innocence”, said the proposals were intended to safeguard childhood and make sure it was “untainted by the worries and complexities of adulthood”.
Under the plan, people switching on a new computer will be asked whether there are children in the house. If there are, parents will then be prompted to tailor their internet filters. The technology will also show parents how to restrict access to social media sites after a time of their choosing, to narrow the number of sites that younger children can visit, and to block access to certain sites altogether.
As backup, said the prime minister, the filters against the most obvious threats – such as pornography and self-harm sites – would remain on if parents repeatedly clicked OK to get through the filter set-up quickly. Providers would also have to verify the age of the person setting the controls so that children could not set up the filters.
Writing in the Daily Mail, Cameron said the government had opted for the system because the evidence suggested that having “default on” filters as standard on all new computers was a waste of time.
The blanket-filter system, he said, was so restrictive that parents had found they were unable to access such services as on-demand TV and had simply turned the filters off because they were too annoying.
“The point is we need a more sophisticated system than this – one that allows parents to tailor exactly what their children can see,” said Cameron. “This is what child safety experts recommend.”
He added: “With our new system, every parent will be prompted to protect their child online. If they don’t make choices, protection will be automatically on. No other government has taken such radical steps before. And once all this is in place, Britain will have the most robust internet child protection measures of any country in the world – bar none.”

Here’s “The Year In Porn,” from one low to the next! Syphilis! Being sued for ripping off “Fifty Shades of Grey”! Octomom and her solo sex video! Etc. etc. Feel free to check out the unfortunate details of the syphilis outbreak below, and then the other “lowlights” at the link …
[The Daily Beast] — Syphilis: In August, most porn companies briefly suspended production in the midst of a syphilis scare. “The Syphilis outbreak shows where the industry is at right now,” said porn star Kristina Rose. “It is a little seedy. Everyday, I hear another rumor or story about shadiness on set.”
Soon, it emerged that veteran male performer Mr. Marcus altered the positive results of an STD test to easily outwit the industry’s testing protocol. This at a time when Pornland was arguing to the public that Measure B and similar efforts were unnecessary in the face of the industry’s foolproof self-regulation. Rose, however, blames the sour economy. “Sometimes in porn, your private parts get a cold,” she said. “A few years ago, when there was money around people were willing to take a week off. But in the bad economy, people are doing desperate things.”
Please read the details of this important story below, and please don’t forget to like, comment on, and share this good news to help support the cause of fighting against child pornography and ALL forms of sexual exploitation and abuse. Also please remember that ADULT porn glamorizes, promotes and fuels CHILD pornography, so taking a stand against ADULT PORN is vital to combating CHILD PORN as well. Thanks for your support! 🙂
[Broward Net] — The Child Protection Act (H.R. 6063) provides law enforcement officials with additional resources to combat the growing threat of child pornography and online exploitation of children. The House of Representatives passed the bill by voice vote in August, and the Senate approved the legislation by unanimous consent on Nov. 26.
“Now that this bill is law, we can protect our children across the nation from online predators,” said Rep. Wasserman Schultz. “The Child Protection Act works to eradicate the spread of child pornography online by addressing it aggressively and quickly, and ensuring that investigators have every available resource to track down predators. With the input of law enforcement officials and child protection advocates, we crafted this bipartisan, common-sense legislation to help stop child exploitation. With President Obama’s signature, this law will now be able to help rescue the thousands of children suffering from unthinkable abuse.”
“Internet child pornography may be the fastest growing crime in America, increasing an average of 150% per year,” said House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith. “According to recent estimates, there are as many as 100,000 fugitive sex offenders in the U.S. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reports that Texas has the second largest number of registered sex offenders nationwide. We must do more to protect the most innocent among us—our children.
“We introduced the Child Protection Act to combat crimes against our children. The Senate passed the bill by unanimous consent and today the President signed it into law. This bipartisan bill increases penalties for child pornography offenses that involve young children and strengthens protections for child witnesses and victims. At a time when Washington is known for partisanship, it is reassuring to see bipartisan legislation enacted. When it comes to protecting our children, there are no Republicans and no Democrats, only concerned citizens.”
